Peppercorn Services Inc (Peppercorn) is a not-for-profit community organisation and a registered charity. The objective of the organisation is to connect with family and community by providing a wide range of services including community transport, community & youth programs, family services, child care and life skills for the aged sector.
The Peppercorn Board of Management was established in 2001.
The role of the Board is to control and manage the affairs of Peppercorn and Board Members are required to hold professional qualifications or have experience in the social services sector. They are nominated by one of the organisations identified in the Boards' Constitution, or are selected as a community representative or Hawkesbury City Councillor.
ROB EWIN - CHAIR
Rob joined our Board in November 2015 as a community representative. Rob has lived in Kurrajong since 1998 and has spent over 40 years in the banking & finance industry, with the last 15 years as the executive responsible for Westpac’s Western Sydney Region. Rob was the NSW state representative on The Westpac Foundation’s Community Board. Now retired from Westpac, he holds a Bachelor of Business degree and remains active in the Hawkesbury Community. Rob is a former President and current Board Member of Kurrajong North Richmond Rotary Club.
KATHERINE HAWES - VICE CHAIR
Katherine Hawes is the founder of Aquarius Lawyers which specialises in providing legal advice and information to businesses seeking to establish overseas. With over 20 years legal and business experience, Katherine also has extensive experience in designing and implementing adult education programs within the legal environment, specialising in providing legal knowledge and skills to non lawyers. Katherine joined our Board in November 2017.
MEAGAN ANG - SECRETARY AND PUBLIC OFFICER
Meagan is the Board’s Secretary and Public Officer and represents the Hawkesbury City Council in her capacity as Community Programs Coordinator. She has been on the Board since 2011. Meagan has extensive experience in the Home and Community Care Services sector, and her position at the Council focusses on sector development and support for the Hawkesbury local government area.
Amy joined the Board in October 2018 as a Hawkesbury City Council representative in her capacity as Youth Participation Officer. She has comprehensive experience working on capacity building projects and youth and community development work. Amy works closely with the Hawkesbury Youth Sector in her role at Council, which focuses on youth led engagement and participation and facilitating collaborative planning to strengthen the capability of Council and service providers to respond to the articulated needs of young people.
A registered nurse, midwife, child and family health nurse and nurse immuniser, Cheryl has spent most of her working life nursing. The last 21 years were in community health roles including establising the Building Strong Foundations Aboriginal Child Health Team and antenatal program in the Nepean LHD. More recent roles include working in rural NSW and the remote Pilbara region of Western Australia. Cheryl is now the Nurse Unit Manager at the St John of God Hospital in Windsor and joined the Peppercorn Board in 2017.
COUNCILLOR EMMA-JANE GARROW
Emma-Jane Garrow was elected to Hawkesbury City Council in September 2016. Emma-Jane currently works for Pink Finss Charity and brings a background in community engagement, event management, fundraising and business management.
Ian joined the Board in 2018 and is the Anglicare Community Services Regional Manager for Western Region as well as leading Anglicare Migrant and Refugee Programs. He has worked across a number of sectors including community services, childcare, defence and retail. Ian has a background in Human Resources and is passionate about empowering staff to grow client services and achieve organisational strategy. Ian holds an Advanced Diploma in Human Resources and is currently completing a Bachelor Degree in Applied Management.
